What Causes Vomiting That Contains Yellow Phlegm While Suffering From COPD?
My mother in law has end stage COPD. She is experiencing gagging sensation and vomited yellow phlegm. To us it does not look like what she brought up is coming from her stomach. Could this be coming from her lungs but seem to her to be vomiting?

Hi,
This yellow phlegm is due to secondary lung infection which should be tested. As she also has COPD, secondary infection is more likely to occur.
Do an x-ray of the chest and start treatment as soon as possible.
