What Causes Vomiting Of Acidic Fluid When Ever I Don T Drink Water?

I have been binge drinking on and off for the last 20 years, I m 38 now. The last few times I ve done this(about 6 litres of vodka over 4-5 days) I ve been horrifically sick unable to hold down even a sip of water and If I don t keep on drinking water, its acid that comes out ! this happens every 10 mins for about 36 hours. My thinking is that my liver maybe unable to let anything pass? It is the worst feeling ive ever known going through this and I know the answer for me is never to drink! I would just love an explanation please as I can t seem to even get to see my G.P .

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms are due to Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease ( GERD ) and need medical management.
I would suggest that you should get an Endoscopy done.
I would advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg.
Following precautions may be helpful :-
1.Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2.Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
3.Avoid mental and emotional stress.
4.Avoid smoking and alcohol.
5.Avoid gas producing foods like peas, cabbage, legumes, cabbage, etc.
6. Drink lots of water daily.
7.Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions.
