What Causes Vomiting, Nausea And Dry Heaves?

Hi, my 20y/o daughter was out in freezing rain and cold today at a parade, went out with girlfriends after, and then had fish tacos for dinner. She has been throwing up and nauseous and now dry heaving. She is normally healthy, sexually active and on birth control. Is there anything she can eat or take to stop the dry heaving ? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Dry heaving she has seems to be due to gastritis... which might be being empty stomoch for long.. followed by spicy dinner.
Let her take sips of icecold milk or lick some icecream very slowly.
Only if she digests it(no dry heave or vomit for half an hour).... she can try a single pill of perinorm over the counter & drink cold milk again slowly sip by sip after half an hour of taking pill.
Mostly she would overcome vomitting/dry heaves. If not /if she continues with the symptoms inspite of cold sips , take her to ER.
Thanks.
