What Causes Vomiting In An Elderly Person?

My wife who is age 74. She has struggled with alcoholism for decades. Her car is in for repairs and she has no way get her wine. I refuse to enable her any longer. She is having a rough time and is sick to her stomach. She won't eat and is only able to drink water. She is vomiting and has the dry heaves. What can I give her to relieve her symptoms? Thank you for any helpful advice you can give me.

@ This is due to chronic gastritis ( mostly alcoholism induced gastric or
duodenal ulcer ) .
@ Suggestions for better outcome
$ Allow liquids in small amounts at intervals
$ In our clinic , we recommend to give anti emetic and proton
pump inhibitor 1 hr prior to breakfast and dinner
$ Once vomiting is lessened can give soft light diet in small
quantity
