Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Martifur (nitrofurantoin) is notorious for nausea and vomiting. Only pus cells in urine with no symptoms of UTI like burning micturation, fever etc. is not significant. Urine C/S report with no growth of bacteria has negative predictive value only if culture has been taken prior to use of antibiotics. If your mother has symptoms of UTI and pus cells or culture was taken after antibiotics then she has to continue medications. I would like to advise you to start him on prokinetic to relieve nausea. if she can t tolerate despite of prokinetic then change her antibiotic to fosfomycin that has good spectrum against gram negative bacteria that are the culprit in UTI.
