Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
week and a half ago had what i thought was a gallbladder attack after eating mac and cheese had severe pain in upper abdomen down right side of rib cage into back pain between shoulder blades and some chest pain but never went to dr since then have had alot of nausea but never vomiting on the right side of abdomen is tender and feels hard along right rib cage with this nagging pain in my back on the right side that never goes away also when i am setting up feels like a knot under the upper part of right side of rib cage any idea what it could be
I appreciate your concern, of course it could be the colicky pain but underlying cause always demands the investigation but that only happens in severe case in mild type of cases the symptoms could be due to hyperacidity, dyspepsia and it can be managed with PPI and anti-spasmodic drug. Sometimes antibiotic can be given try and the drug of choice could be Tab Dicylclomine with Acetaminophen, Tab Omeprazole. If the symptoms persist then may requires clinical attention with investigations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain Shaikh
