What Causes Vomiting After Intercourse?

Hi, Im trying to figure out the cause of throwing up after intercourse with my husband. This has happened for the past 4 years. He s never rough...and it doesn t matter the position. It goes like this... Sex (with Lubricant ), orgasm, intense cramping followed by throwing up until the pain and cramps subside. Sometimes I become shaky. I think this could be related to the pain. Im at a loss. I had a few surgeries (laparoscopy) in the past few years to remove scarring from a (botched emergency ectopic removal) and endo was ruled out. Any advise is welcome.

Hello,

Intense pain can cause nausea and shakiness. Because you have had history of scarring due to an ectopic removal it is likely you might experience this pain due to adhesions in the area around the uterus and may be causing severe pain with intercourse.

It is important that you discuss this with your doctor and have a gynecological exam. The doctor might need to do some tests like pap smear if you have not had one in the last 1-2 years, cervical samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea and also sometimes laparospcopy is needed to rule out adhesions (checking the lower abdominal area with a tube with camera).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
