What Causes Vomit Of A 13 Month Baby To Be Black?

My son from time to time will throw up curdled milk that has a black tint to it. A few days ago all his vomit was black and then he was fine. Tonight he threw up once and it was laced with something black. Is he ok? He is 13months old. He has no other symptoms.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Symptoms that you refer are suggestive of gastric hemorrhage that is caused by vomiting.
Initially vomiting might be caused by seasonal virus.

This case is serious so you should contact a pediatric gastroenterologist as soon as possible.

I hope I helped you.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
