What Causes Visible Blood Vessel On The Roof Of Mouth?
I just finished dinner and I felt a big pimple on the roof of my mouth. When i looked in the mirror there was what looks like a blood vessel ( brownish red) on the roof. Maybe the size of a small tick. I didn't burn my mouth on food , it just appeared . Never had this before and I'm 37.
As per your query big pimple like collection of blood on roof of mouth is because of palatal engorgement of blood vessels which is very normal phenomenon. It occurs because of irritation while having food at times which causes increased blood supply in that area and leads to collection of blood.
Don't worry about anything it will get better soon. You should visit dentist if it is hampering swallowing. Incision and drainage is the treatment option for it under septic conditions.
Avoid eating hot, spicy food substances as they are the main exaggerating substances. Drink cold water.
Before its bleed visit dentist and take cold compressors.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
