What Causes Viral Cough?

Is there an alternative treatment for this? I am taking pantoprozole & motillium with limited results. I am thinking along the lines of natural, herbal, vitamins etc. I am 62, female, 5 8 80kg. I have a 5cm sliding hernia & until mid 2010 when I had a virul cough had no motility issues. A recent gastroscopy shows an oesophagus within normal limits. No eosophinils showed from the biopsy.

Hello,

It may be due to viral infection.

For that you may require complete hemogram, throat swab after ENT consultation.

Continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day.

You may require cough syrup containing pseudo ephedrine.

Take hygienic food and water.

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
