What Causes Vertigo And Blurred Vision?

My mother is 77 years old and is experiencing vertigo and blurred vision. She has had periodic episodes of vertigo beginning about one year ago, following a hip replacement surgery. This was her first major surgery and general anesthsia. Not sure if they are related or coincidental. This is the first time she has had vision blurriness along with the vertigo. Can vertigo cause vision problems or could she be experiencing a stroke?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.

As a first line management you can take drugs like betahistine for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
