I am 56 finished menopause ten or so years ago. No hrt. Three years ago while being hospitalized for animal bite infection on blood thinners at that time strong iv antibiotics had a period. No clots stopped four days no reoccurance. Started spotting again stopped. Not sexually active . is this a signal something wrong. I have been on 2,000 mg day antibiotic kflex for cellulitis have osteoarthritis take diclofenac for that.
I have gone through your question and I understand your concern. The usual causes of post menopausal bleeding are: Hormone replacement therapy. Use of blood thinners recently Infection of the uterus or cervical canal. Endometrial polyps. Endometrial atrophy or endometrial hyperplasia. Endometrial cancer.
If I was your treating physician I would suggest tests like transvaginal ultrasound, hysteroscopy, Dilatation and curettage and hysteroscopy.
I would strongly recommend you consult your local physician for detailed clinical history, complete physical evaluation and further course of treatment accordingly.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
