What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Taking Primolut N?

Hello. I am 30 years old, weighing 51kg. My expected date for period is 30 Nov. I took the first dosage of Primolut N tablet on 27th Nov morning to delay my period. But on 28th morning, I saw some brown spotting ie vaginal discharge. Has my period started? Or shall I continue taking the tablet? Please advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to 'Ask a Doctor' service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I am not sure if your periods has started, I will recommend you to continue with primolut, however, if menstruation starts within few days then there is no use of taking primolut anymore. It is recommended to start primolut 7 days before the expected periods, starting too late may not give it enough time to act.

Let me know if this was helpful and do ask if you have any further questions.

Regards,
Dr. Akash Kumar
