Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Vaginal Odor While Using Lubricant During Intercourse?
Yes, I am past menopause due to a hysterectomy in 2005. I am not using any HRT. I have dryness so I use a lubricant during intercourse and have notice a odor which I have never smelled before. I tried a different lubricant. I used monostat which helped but obviously the odor is back. There is no discharge. I can I do?
I think it's time to see a gynaecologist. The dry vagina seems to be related to menopause. However, the change in odor is a signal of possible genital infection. And, that should be checked out by gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini
