What Causes Vaginal Itching And Burning Sensation After Intercourse?

I recently had sex with my boyfriend and before and after sex I have had an itchy feeling but after sex I had an almost unbearable feeling like inflammation at the very top of the vulva and near the vaginal opening. It does not get to urinate? I have put Vaseline on and it cools it down but I don t know what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of having infection of vagina called 'vaginosis'. It could be bacterial or fungal in origin. Kindly get yourself clinically examined by consulting Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

You may need antifungal and antibacterial medications to overcome the symptoms. Kindly abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
