What Causes Vaginal Discomfort And Blood In Urine Post Treatment For UTI?

hi doctor, My wife developed a UTI, it started with pain discomfort and bleeding with urine. She got treated and now the reports say she is clear of UTI. But she still has vaginal discomfort and pain and from couple of days she bleeds with her urine. we had sex a few days back and she had vaginal bleeding as well. Is all this normal.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
I suggest you to get a urine examination again to look for the evidence of re-infection.
vaginal discharge especially after sex is not indicative of genital tract infection but infection has to be ruled out.
So I suggest you to get a high vaginal smear and a Pap test.
Bleeding after sex can occur due to cervicitis, cervical erosion, vaginitis, endometritis and cancers especially cervical cancers.
Thus, a Pap test is required to rule out cancer and to figure out the cause of bleeding after having sex.
High vaginal smear will rule out infection and if present can be treated with relevant antibiotics.
