Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My mom is 52 years old. And i think she is going through menopause this year. She had a polyps outside her uterus which was operated 5-6 months back. Now she is having cough for about 1 week. And when she coughs, she is getting vaginal bleeding. Just drops. Can you explain what is wrong?
Is your mother on Aspirin ? If yes, she has to stop it for a while. So delayed bleeding for any operation on any tumor of Uterus is highly rare. So we have to rule out any systemic cause that is to say any bleeding tendency she may be having, is she ?
On the other hand if she is taking any drugs to avoid the menopausal syndrome, they themselves have the capacity to cause bleeding diathesis. Try to stop them if she 's taking and see.
Finally if she's per vaginally bleeding only on coughing get her wound status checked by any Gynaecologist-whether it has healed properly or not. Otherwise she will have to be stitched again.
I hope that helped.
