Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I turned 55 years old on May 28 and always had regular periods. I had a period in June but none in July, August, or September or it was miniscule, barely noticeable. My doctor ran test and they said that I was definitely menopausal but today, I started a full period. Is this normal? Has menopause started for me? I am active and healthy.
Hello dear I understand your concern Bleeding during the menopause is not normal. It could be due to cervix and endometrium dysplasia and cancer, fibroid, endometriosis, hormonal imbalance or vaginal infection. I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo the USG scan, PAP smear/colposcopy, endometrial biopsy. Further management will depend on the specific cause. Hope this may help you

Yes it definitely could be a possibility. starting of menopause does not mean you are or you will get ill.It is a normal aging process of the body. During onset of menopause your cycles do fluctuate with regard to time and durration and flow as well
