What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Sharp Lower Abdominal Pain?

Hello Doctor, I have been experiencing moderate bleeding for what has been over three weeks now. Three weeks prior to the bleeding I was experiencing sharp pain on my right side below my abdomen. The pain was a sharp stabbing pain and continued for about three to four days before the bleeding began. I am on birth control, but do not take it everyday at the same time. When the bleeding did begin, I was having discomfort during sexual intercourse, and there was a tissue like substance coming out of my vagina. I am not sure exactly what this can be.

Hi...Thanks for considering Ask a doctor service
I understand your worries...
What birth control pills are you taking & for how long...?
Chances of bleeding might be also due to Birth control pills..
I suggest you to take USG Abdomen and pelvis and consult a gynecologist to narrow down the diagnosis...
I also suggest you to check for pap smear also...
Hope your doubts are cleared
Take care
