General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bleeding takes place when one loses virginity during intercourse due to breakage of membranous tissue inside vagina called 'hymen'. However, bleeding can happen on subsequent occasions if there is injury to the remnants of hymen still being persistent inside. Gradually, such bleeding should stop completely. If it continues, you need to undertake per vaginal and per speculum examination by consulting Gynecologist to know what could be the cause, so that it can be treated accordingly.

Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Khushboo Priya
