What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Having Contraceptive Pill?

Took morning after pill after unprotected sex, had bleeding a couple of days after, looked like a normal period. Next period is now five days late if bleeding was a period. Took pregnancy test, came back negative. Had acne, bloating, sore nipples but still not had my period. What's going on?

Thank you for your question on HCM.This is one of the most common side effects of a morning after pill.The bleeding you had after afew days seems to be a regular period.the most common side effect of this pill is a delayed period the following month along with other side effects like nausea ,bloating sensation ,breast tenderness.you may also experience mid cycle spotting or bleeding as a side effect.So right now since your periods have been delayed for just five days late and since your pregnancy test too came back negative there is nothing to worry.your periods will regularise in a few days.hope this was useful.
