i am 23 years old and i have been suffering from urine infection for over a month now, my 1st urine test showed 40-45 pus cells...the recent test shows 25-30 pus cells, i was advised to take urine culture test, the reports are awaited. what is the reason behind catching such an infection? how much time does it take for one to recover from such an infection? how long will i have to be under medication?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest using a cycle of antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin.

I also suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

I recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
