What Causes Urge For Urination And Blood In Urine?

Age 52, 5'6", 165lb, good health. Occasionally over the past four months I have had a sudden desperate urge to pee, at the end of which the urine turned to blood. In the latest incident (yesterday) this was repeated four or five times, each time with a larger bit of "clot" coming out.

dear user

about your question i would like to tell you that these symptoms refer to urinary tract infection and mostly the infection of urinary bladder is the cause
you feel urge to pee and at the end of peeing there is blood drops come out and these symptoms indicate that you may have cystitis which means your urinary bladder is inflammed and that is mostly due to bacterial infection.......when the blood driops come at the begining of urination we suggest that urethra is infected but when it come at the end this means urinary bladder is affected......you need not to worry about that but just simple steps to follow....you need to do urine culture as investigative and confirmatory test......if you feel severe lower abdominal pain you should do ultrasound scan of urinary bladder........as the bacteria infect urinary tract system it may migrate to special part of urinary system and concentrate and attached and multiply ........simply you should see your doctor to check any other problems of prostate inflammation related to that infection as when prostate affected the symptoms get worse........you may need to take antibiotics for effective treatment as ciprofloxacin that has great role in treatment of urinary tract infection....and you should drink alot of fluids that helps to eliminate the bacteria from your bladder.......you need not to get worry of that as itis common problem........hope that helps you
