What Causes Urge Bowel Incontinence After Removal Of The Rectum?

My husband is 65. About 15 years ago he had colon cancer and had his colon and rectum removed. For a few years now, he has had a periodic sensation that he has too poop, but he has already emptied himself (he has a proctocolectomy). He takes a tiny bit of Norco to be comfortable (he bites off about 1/16th of a pill). His body is hyper-sensitive to all meds. He wants to know if there is another medication he can take for this that won t make him dingy for the next 24 hours. Any suggestions? Maybe something natural?

I am so sorry to know that and i can totally understand you pain and worry. Isabgol is a natural plant product that is available in the market which is a laxative. It causes bulk evacuation of bowel and wont make him go again n again to the loo. Try to be more on banana and coconut water atleast ones a day.
