What Causes Upper Back Pain Along With Difficulty In Breathing?

Worked on a car, used epoxy glue and arc welded the frame. Now i am having difficulty breathing and pain in my upper back. have not smoked in four or five years, but smoked for thirty-five years. Have an appointment with VA next week, and i was wondering what it might be. Had shortness of breath two other times. once when i spray painted and when i took to much L-arganine and L-glutinine.

Hello,

Epoxy glue has quite serious effects on the lung. Unfortunately other than not being around the fumes, there is little to fix damage that may have been done.

The function of the lungs is quite simple to totally evaluate; there is getting the air in and how well oxygen gets thru them. For the former, spirometry (blowing in a bag and seeing how much air moves) and blood oxygen level would be the test for the second.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
