What Causes Unusually Heavy Menstruation With Blood Clots?

My Obgyn gave me a 300mg progesterone shot in sept of 2014, I have been bleeding very heavily as well as clotting very badly and hurting severely, when I called my Obgyn he said that he was unconcerned and there is nothing that I can do, because he said that the dose that I was given was 5times the normal amount that an average woman would get for 3 months of birth co from. Is there anything that I can do to slow or stop the clotting and bleeding?

Hi, thanks for posting the concern in the HCM.
Unusual heavy menstruation may occur due to large doses of progesterone. But, when the bleeding persists, alongwith clots and / or pain in lower abdomen, that may be dangerous. Significant amount of blood loss may cause hypovolemia and its complications. Therefore, you should consult some other local gynecologist.
I usually advice my patients to take tab Pause MF in case of such complaints.
Please also maintain good oral hydration.
Further tests are also needed.
Complete blood count, ESR, PT, APTT, INR, BT, CT
Urea, Creatinine, electrolytes.
USG lower abdomen.
In case of any further query, please write back.
Regards.
