General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Granulation tissue is a layer of connective tissue formed during wound healing. It can fill up and size of gap, over time. If your granulation tissue is pink in colour, does not bleed on touch. It's a healthy tissue and would heal with the cleanliness, vitamin C, B complex supplements. But if it's dark red, bleeds on touch, gets tender to touch, get fever, it's unhealthy and may catch infection. Please consult treating doctor for more specific advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
