What Causes Trouble In Sleeping With Blurred Vision And Skin Flaring Up?

I have suffered with anxiety for a few years. Since xmas I have struggled to sleep through the night. It wasnt worrying me until I nearly fainted and my vision wen blurred. GP put me on Citalopram but took for 6 wks and it just made me shake. I feel unwell and my skin is flaring up with spots, I have sensitive skin on my face that is tender to touch. When I drink alcohol I feel bad the day after. Blood tests etc are clear? Could it be a virus or something to worry about? 5ft 2, 8 and half stone

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,

Anxiety and trouble sleeping can be caused by Hyperthyroidism. But this condition can not explain the fainting and blurred vision.

If you were my pation, considering that your common blood test is normal, I would suggest doing the thyroid tests TSH,fT3 and fT4 to see if you have any thyroid condition that can explain your actual situation.

You do not have a fever (low-grade fever), runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, congestion or light body aches, so the viral infection can be excluded.

Anyway, I suggest consulting physically your doctor if you have any of the symptoms of the list.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
