Hello
Welcome to health care magic.
I understand your concern.

Trichomonas vaginalis is only transmitted through sexual intercourse.
It is quite possible for the infection to be present in a person without causing any symptoms or causing mild irritation in genital area.It happens in 60-70% of persons infected with trichomonas.
It is necessary that your partner too get tested for STD tests and undergo treatment.
Treatment of trichomonas is by antibiotic course of metronidazole for 7-10 days.Visit STD expert or gynaecologist in this regard.
Avoid sex while on treatment and 1 week after its completion.
In general, always use condom while having sex to reduce chances of transmission of STD if present.

Hope I answere your query.
Wish you good health.
