What Causes Tremors At Night And Elevated Thyroid Hormone Levels?

My mother woke up a couple nights ago shaking at 3 in the morning and today she found that her thyroid level is up from 50 to 75. What does that mean? I thought she was having a stroke by high blood pressure so I had encouraged her to get her blood checked and the results were today. Her bp at the time was 180

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Thyroid level elevation means she's having hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism causes hypothermia which causes tremors and chills. Consult your physician to alter the dosage. High blood pressure also causes chills in case of stroke. you need to get on the treatment plan immediately after consultation to regulate it. Other possible causes may be UTI, viral infection, pneumonia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
