What Causes Tracheobronchial Malacia With Cough, Hypertension And Heart Palpitations?

Hi, I am a forty year old black female. I have tracheal bronchial malacia which the symptom is a severe, violent cough in addition I have hypertension (result of the chronic cough). All of this week, when I am sitting or laying down (mostly at night), my heart/chest just starts pounding really hard. My heart rate is within a normal range. My blood pressure is just slightly elevated. I am just wondering what the racing heart rate could be. I do not think it is anxiety as I do not feel stressed in the evening hours. Thank you for your input

Hi,

The excessive cough of continuing cough bout may cause the rapid heart rate it can be thought (Initially) looking at the given history.

But it can be really needed to be ruled out for cardiac disease and for that the only test is EKG it is most advisable.

Allergic could be another cause that may also induce the same symptoms of rapid heart rate, it is the condition that demands the medical attention.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
