What Causes Tiredness And Irregular Periods In A 10 Year Old?

My child is extremely tired all the time was going to buy her a tonic minadex but unable to find it can you suggest something else, she is 10 years old growing all the time and started her periods in may still irregular but know thats normal. Was at doc today but he suggested waiting a bit see how she goes but this been going on since may.

Hi....by what you quote I feel that the irregular periods she's having might have resulted in some anemia. Anemia can cause such easy fatiguability and lethargy. Rather than multivitamin I suggest giving her iron and vitamin D supplements as she's a growing adolescent.

If I were your pediatrician I would suggest using 100mg of elemental iron and 1000 IU of vitamin D supplements for a period of 3 months and then review her progress a month after starting the above medications.
