Afterword things are ok. BP is always in control...from 115-120 to 65-70 & heart rate on an average of 60. My EF is around 35% . I tried with 1/2 tab in the morning and 1/2 in the night of starpress & 1/2 dose of Dytor ...but effect is same.... Can you advice me ..why this tiredness after taking tablets in the morning. I gpo for walk for 40-50 min around 3-4 km every day and do some pranayam. Now I stopped pranayam and only do walk to see whether it is due to it. But still symptoms are same.

Hi,

Starpress XL 50 mg contains metoprolol that is used in the treatment of high blood pressure, heart related chest pain, irregular heart rhythms etc. Starpress XL 50 mg belongs to the group of medications known as beta-blockers which is used to prevent future heart attacks or strokes. Beta blockers are well known for producing fatigue, unusual tiredness and weakness. The main side effects of Starpress XL 50 mg are fatigue, tiredness, weakness, exhaustion, loss of energy, dry mouth, thirsty, slow heart rate, feeling dizzy and nausea, shortness of breath, low blood pressure or hypotension etc.

If these side effects persist for long, then you should inform your doctor first for medical help. Again, Dytor plus 10 mg contains both torsemide and spironolactone that belongs to the group of medications known as diuretics is used to treat high blood pressure and reduce the edema caused by heart failure, kidney failure or liver diseases. This drug may also cause fatigue, unusual tiredness and weakness, exhaustion, dryness of mouth, increased thirst, muscle cramps etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then consult your doctor first.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician
