What Causes Tiny And Medium Sized Bumps On Forehead?

I m a 55 year old african american woman and for past 2weeks very tiny and medium size bumps on my forehead they itch a little i thought they were mosquitos bites. I had a few on my cheeks and they did cause my face and eyes to swell. my physician thinks its something im allergic too,so gave me a prescription for 4mg Methylprednisolone tabs to take for 6days,OTC benaydryl tabs to help the itch and Calydryl as topical to sooth the itch. The steroids took the tiny bumps and swelling away but it didn t eliminate the medium size bumps away they go away an other one s surface . I completed the pills on 7-28-14 Too my knowledge i ve not changed anything in diet, soaps, hygiene products, etc. What can my doctor order or I can do to know whats causing this? Deneice

Hi.
As per your case history you are having either polymorphic light eruption or papular urticaria.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30.
2. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
3. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on it twice a day.
4. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
