What Causes Tingling Sensation In Toes?

I wake up in the morning with tingling toes and now have bruised toenails in about 4 toes. I work on my feet all day as a cook and just started a new job and never sit for 8 hours. Tingling started in the morning a few months ago I live in Hawaii but did get slight frostbite when I lived in Alaska 25 years ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you need to get it reviewed by your primary care physician as it may be due to multiple reasons.

Though frost bite is a possibility but Raynaud's phenomenon which may be part of some autoimmune disorders or vasculitis, or peripheral arterial disease needs to be ruled out.

Burgers disease etc needs to be ruled out as well. Avoid cold exposure as well as smoking should be stopped if any. Rarely calcium channel blockers medicine, etc can be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
