What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Tongue And Light Headedness?

My husband had a heart catheterization on Tuesday 7/19. He needs to have his aortic valve replaced. Yesterday he complained of feeling lightheaded and weak, with some tingling sensation of the tongue (central). His blood pressure was a normal value, but low for him. Today he again is experiencing this tingling in the tongue, but is not lightheaded. Should I call the cardiologist?

Hello,

This most probably occurs due to low blood pressure, and it occurs due to aortic valve disease. He is probably having aortic stenosis. The definitive treatment is definitely aortic valve replacement as early as possible. Till then he should avoid dehydration, avoid risky activities like driving, don't get up suddenly from sleeping or sitting position. Whenever he gets such episodes he should immediately lie down and rest for sometime And drinks some fluids.
