General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Betty,

The first thing that I would get checked out would be the neck, or cervical spine. Since the tingling comes quite specifically only in certain situations, it is likely that there is some nerve being irritated somewhere in those positions. The sensation in the arms originates from the neck, so I would recommend that you visit an orthopaedic surgeon to see if an X-ray or even MRI of the neck would be useful.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Teh
