What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Chest While Coughing?

I have flu like symptoms after having the flu jab 4 days ago (I ve been very poorly) and I also suffer with asthma however when I take a breath in or cough my chest/throat tingles. It s causing me to cough more in a vicious cycle. Locum doctor checked me over today and said chest clear and obs fine so take paracetamol and stop crying. How can I stop the tingling!? (amongst other symptoms like, muscle cramps, shivering, goosebumps, sore skin, headache, weight loss, sweating through clothes and coughing) please help!

Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern

1. As your case history is dealing with flu vaccine and asthma i would sincerely advise you to get an opinion with a chest specialist because of the following reason:

i. Symptoms mentioned by you could be adverse drug reaction [ADR] of the vaccine
ii. people with asthma are at higher risk from complications due to flu and pnemococcal infections are serious complication of influenza infection so pnemococcal vaccine should be given at the same time as influenza vaccine

PS. your doctor will also exclude possibility of acute bronchitis/pneumonia by reviewing your current health, medical history, physical exam and chest x-ray and then prescribing accordingly
