What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Arm After A Cardiac Stent Insertion?

Hi. I had a St. Jude s pacemaker implanted about 10 weeks ago, and I have intermittent tingling in my left arm on the surface close to my chest. It feels as though there is a light electrical current running through it. It doesn t seem to be postural-related, nor does it correspond to heart rate. Can you tell me what this might be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It might be due to minor nerve impingement and contusion after the procedure.

Generally, it will settle by itself even without treatment.

If symptoms persist, you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
