Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I removed a splinter from my foot (heel) a few days ago. It has been sore and is in a difficult place to avoid using my heel to walk on. Right now I am getting tingling feeling facially as well as hands. Would this be related to a possible infection, or should I look elsewhere for the cause ?
Tingling sensation on the face can be normal at times, but if at all it lasts for long and is not just a once or twice time thing, then a doctors visit should follow.
Checking of nutrient levels like vitamin B 12 may also be in order. But the tingling being related to the splinter in the foot is unlikely. Also, treat the foot if you do see signs of an infection.
Best wishes.
