What Causes Tingling Sensation Around The Navel?

I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy 10 weeks ago and all sites have healed but I am experiencing some tightening and pulling internal pain around my umbilicus. Do you have any thoughts? I am concerned I may have strained something and possibly damaged an internal healing.

Usually, the laparoscope (camera) port is inserted at the umbilicus. Tightening and pulling is normal as scar tissue forms and remodels. I would only be concerned if you were having nausea, vomiting, fevers or pain. Sometimes, you can get a hernia (weakness in the abdominal wall). Unless you are having the symptoms i mentioned above, I would give it another couple of a weeks. If you're still having issues, then you can follow up with the surgeon and see if you do have a hernia at the port site.
