What Causes Tingling In The Face While Having Stroke?

My husband had a minor stroke in May. He has recovered except his left hand still feels odd on and off because the nerves are still growing back. Lately he has a tingling in his left cheek, on and off. Should we be concerned? His face was not affected when he had his stroke...just his arm and leg.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read your message carefully and understood your medical issue.

I am happy to read that your husband is recovering quite well.

Weird sensations among the patients who have experienced stroke are quite usual. Anyway, I think it is better to do see a doctor for any nerve damage detection. The tingling face can appear in exposure of cold temperatures as well.

The tingling face is usually associated with stroke as it will involve the cranial (head) nerves. I recommend to consult with his doctor further in order to prevent a new attack of stroke.

Hope this was helpful.
