Hi. I am a 20 year old female. I started feeling some chest tightness and now it kind of feels like there is pressure built up. Ive been sitting all day and i took my heart rate and its at 90bpm. I smoke ecigerettes. I am of average weight and i dont really exercise. I just would like to know what could be causing this and if it is of any major concern

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms can appear due to asthma, lungs infection, tuberculosis or even acid reflux.
If you do cough very often, especially in the morning, asthma is very probable.
If you have some chest burning, acid reflux is also possible.

I suggest you to consult pulmonologist. Chest x-ray and spirometry should be done. You should also quit smoking.

Regards.
