What Causes Tightness In The Chest And Irregular Heart Beat?

I have noticed my heartbeat is irregular. Over the past two weeks I have felt a pause after a heartbeat, feels a bit like hiccups but with my heart. Today it has been tiring and my chest feels a little tight. If i take my pulse I can feel the gap in the beats. I am 41, 58kg and I don t smoke. I don t drink caffeine. I do have very high cholesterol which is inherited. My diet is very healthy.
