What Causes Tightness And Burning Sensation In Throat Along With Post Nasal Drip?

Hi. I have a problem with my throat. Would you pleas be able to help? I sent to the doctors and they said I Have post nasal drip. Sometimes I have a slight Burning sensation after eating. When I cough I can t seem to clear my thoat properly and I have a tightness when I eat. my throat also aches occasionally

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain the symptoms seems to be consistent with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux or Silent reflux in which there is acid reflux from stomach to throat and mouth and shows no classical symptoms of chest burning but burning in throat, mucous at the back of throat, post nasal drip and tightness in throat can be due to it..
I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and upper G.I Endoscopy can be diagnostic..
In case of reflux he can advise you to take Proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole, H2 blockers like Ranitidine, antacids like milk of magnesia, avoiding spicy and large meals, take your dinner atleast 2 hours before sleeping and sleep with head slightly raised as compared to the feet..
Drink plenty of water..
