What Causes Tight Sensation On The Left Side Of The Chest?

Last night when I got home from work, I sat down and i had a very tight squeezing in the left side of my chest. this squeezing went from my chest to my arm and up into my neck. I also felt like I was going to vomit. I was so afraid to move that i fell asleep in the chair I was in.. today, my chest still has a some pressure but not as severe as last night. I called my doctor they advised me to go to the E.R. what should I do.

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

The symptoms you are describing raises the concern for coronary artery disease. An EKG is recommended. Please be advised to follow up with the emergency room as soon as possible. Have someone drive you to the ER or call 911. If available at home take 2 aspirin right now.

Hope this answers your questions
