What Causes Tight Sensation In The Chest Along With Sore Throat?

i have a very tight chest, have been sick for 4 days with sore throat, aches and pains, chills, but am on humira so do not run a temperature. I have been taking panadol which reduces the symptoms but still have a tight chest when inhaling and constantly aware of it. i have an inhaler for mild asthma and have taken a dose today but it did not seem to make a lot of difference. Is this just a virus or do I need to see a doctor about the chest tightness? which I have never had like this before. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You have a history of asthma. Now you have a sore throat along with chest tightness. You can take amoxicillin along with Panadol for the infection in your throat.

However, you need to visit the ER, to get re-examined for Asthma, COPD, Pneumonia or any developing pulmonary pathology. Tightness in the chest is also indicative of angina, a cardiac cause. Get lipid function tests, CBC, Urinalysis has done to screen out any developing coronary artery disease.

Hope I have answered your query.
