What Causes Throbbing Pain In Left Thigh While Suffering From Arthritis In Hip?

Hi! I have been having lots of throbbing pain in my left thigh. It s on the left part of the top of my thigh, mainly just above the knee. I do have advanced arthritis in my hip. There is a cyst in my hip socket and I need to have a replacement at some point when it gets too painful to deal with. I am curious if this is from that.

Hi,

Problems in hip joint can cause referred pain in thigh or knee joint. If there is no swelling or point tenderness in the area, this is probably referred pain.

Referred pains does not require separate treatment other than analgesics and treatment of the primary condition.

If pain is disturbing and not responding to analgesics, kindly discuss with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
