What Causes Throat Swelling After Smoking?

I am an active 45 year old man who has been a casual smoker for 7 years now (max 4 cigarettes per 2 weeks). I started socially but lately due to stressful family situations. I hate it and want to stop, and now am afraid of throat or lung cancer. My throat gets swollen for a couple of days after. What are the chances my cells are changing to cancerous cells?

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. The best option is to quit smoking. Your body must have acquired an allergic reaction to smoking or nicotine which is causing this. You may consult a physician for detailed investigation. For now stop smoking and be brave to maintain it.
