What Causes Throat Pain While Swallowing?

Hello. For the last two days I have had a sore throat on the right hand side, pain while swallowing. Around 20 mind ago the lump/difficulty swallowing suddenly disappeared: I cannot feel any obstruction now. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. I d like to know if swallowing plus from a throat abscess is harmful? Thanks for your time.

Hello,

You may be having tonsils abscess which may be ruptured and have to free feeling. Even swallowing of pus may won't cause problems due to acidity in the stomach and enzymes that may lyse it. Anyway please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
